Global Health Institute

Connecting people to improve health around the world.

Partnerships

GHI partners with many organizations and entities, many of which are also a part of Loma Linda University, to help in multiple ways around the world.

More than 10 years ago, Adventist Health International (AHI) was established as a hospital management organization to rebuild struggling Seventh-day Adventist hospitals and clinics in the developing world. Today, AHI works to improve the clinical and financial infrastructure within a network of hospitals and clinics around the world.

ProTECTOR seeks to establish the conservation of sea turtles in the waters of Honduras through education, research, and community development. We are working to bring different schools and departments at Loma Linda University together to facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to community development that will integrate economics, skills development, education, health, and ecological conservation.

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA) church, which owns and operates Loma Linda University, also supports churches, academic and health care organizations throughout the world.  The Global Health Institute collaborates with the SDA church to support its global outreach mission.

Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH) opened as a 400 bed hospital in 1994, planned and built in collaboration with Loma Linda University.  SRRSH now has more than 1,200 beds and is the first public hospital in China to be accredited by Joint Commission International.
Zhejiang University Children's Hospital (ZUCH) is a sister hospital to Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital in Hangzhou, China and established a partnership with Loma Linda University Children's Hospital in 2007.

These may be seven of GHI's bigger cooperative efforts, however, the institute continually works with other entities and departments to further its global outreach.
