"The Flagship Project"

Who: Loma Linda University is a subcontractor under Chemonics International Incorporated.

Objective: To support the Palestinian Ministry of Health and other key non-governmental health providers to develop a sustainable and efficient health system to improve the quality of life for the Palestinian people.

Project Duration: 5 years (Started October of 2008)

Funding: United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

Loma Linda University's Role is to assist with:

Building the capacity of the Palestine Ministry of Health to improve health care
Operationalizing the Palestinian Medical Complex (PMC)
Providing short-term technical assistance in key areas

- Emergency Medicine
- Pediatric ICU
- Hospital Administration
- Nursing Administration
- Infection Control
- Waste Management
- Biomedical Engineering
- Nephrology

The Palestinian Medical Complex will consist of 5 hospitals:

Bahrain Pediatric Hospital
Kuwaiti Surgical Hospital
Ramallah General Hospital
Sheikh Zayed Emergency Hospital
Hippocrates Blood Bank
