      In the 1950’s, Adventist physician Stanley Sturges opened a one room clinic in the small village of Banepa. Since then, Loma Linda graduates have continued to contribute their time and money to what is now Scheer Memorial Hospital. This approximately 150 bed hospital continues to provide hope and healthcare to the small village, located just 16 miles from the capital city of Kathmandu.
